List of Services

Union Social Service Office provides various types of public welfare services. Notable among these are: Loans for the poor under the Rural Social Service (RSS) program, old age allowance, widow allowance, disability allowance, freedom fighter allowance, educational scholarships, and other social security programs. In addition, rehabilitation of acid burn victims and physically disabled women, free legal aid, and various social awareness programs are also included in the services of Union Social Service Office.

Below is a list of services provided by the Union Social Services Office:

  • Rural Social Service (RSS) Activities:

Interest-free loans are provided to the poor and needy for employment.

  • Social Security Allowance:

Old age allowance, widow's allowance, widowed women's allowance, disabled allowance, freedom fighter's allowance, etc. are provided.

  • Education Scholarship:

Educational scholarships are provided to poor and talented students.

  • Rehabilitation of acid burn victims and physically disabled women:

Various assistance is provided for the rehabilitation of acid burn victims and physically disabled women.

  • Various training and awareness activities:

Various trainings are conducted to enhance the skills of members and various activities are conducted to increase social awareness.

  • Beneficiary Selection:

Beneficiary selection and lists are prepared under various social safety net programs of the government.

  • Legal assistance:

Free legal aid is provided.

  • Other social security activities:

Relief and rehabilitation activities are carried out in natural disasters and other emergency situations.

These services are provided by the Union Social Service Office at the Union Parishad. In addition, these services are also available through the Upazila Social Service Office and the District Social Service Office.
